Navigating Kia's Warranty: What's Covered for Your 2024 Model

Your new Kia is the product of advanced engineering and design that give it enhanced durability. Its long-life potential is matched with outstanding warranty protection to provide complete peace of mind. As your Kia dealer, we want to tell you about the types of coverage you receive under the 2024 Kia warranty.

From Your Kia Dealer: What's Covered by Your 2024 Kia Warranty?

Basic Warranty Coverage

This warranty applies to almost every component and system in your Kia. The only components not covered in this warranty are those protected by other warranties or due to specific exclusions outlined in the warranty booklet. For example, any damage caused to components due to normal wear and tear is excluded.

Component coverages with this warranty apply for the first five years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. This term length is greater than most other manufacturers provide, as a typical auto warranty is usually around three years or 36,000 miles. In the unlikely event of any issue with any item covered by warranty, repairs will be performed by an authorized dealer free of charge.

Powertrain Coverage

The powertrain comprises all the systems that allow your Kia to move. These systems include the engine, transmission, axles, transaxle, propeller shafts, and differentials. Components in these systems are protected against any factory-related labor or material issue for ten years or 120,000 miles. There are certain coverage exclusions.

Situations not covered by this warranty include normal wear and tear, repairing damage caused by unauthorized repairs, misuse, tampering, or damage due to accidents.

Paint

Kia uses high-quality paint which is exceptionally robust and damage-resistant. If any flaking, chipping, or cracking develops in the first three years or 36,000 miles, the paint will be restored to perfect condition by a dealer.

Anti-Perforation Limited Warranty

Perforation is corrosion damage that penetrates a piece of body or sheet metal from one side to the other. Corrosion can rapidly destroy metal, and your Kia has special protection applied at the factory to protect against this occurrence. In the unlikely event your Kia sustains perforation damage, the affected body of sheet metal will be replaced for free. This protection applies for five years or 60,000 miles.

Adjustment Coverage

This warranty covers any adjustment if it's found to be necessary. Adjustments are minor repairs that don't require replacement parts. Adjustments include issues like wheel balance, wheel alignment, cable tensioning, and engine idle speed. This protection applies for the first year or 12,000 miles, whichever happens first.

Battery Coverage

Your original battery is covered against any possible defect for three years or 36,000 miles. If it develops an issue under normal conditions within this time, it will be replaced with a new Kia-approved battery.

These are some of the many highlights of your warranty. If you'd like to know more, contact us today at DeMontrond Kia in Houston, TX.

Essential Kia Winter Maintenance Tips for Houston, TX

Winter is on its way, and while Houston, TX, doesn’t usually experience harsh winter weather, it’s still crucial to prepare your Kia for seasonal changes. Proper Kia winter maintenance ensures your vehicle remains reliable and safe when temperatures drop. Whether you’re planning a road trip or just navigating local streets, these tips will help keep your Kia in top shape during the colder months. Why Kia Winter Maintenance Matters Winter weather can bring unexpected challenges, even in milder climates like Houston, TX. Cold temperatures can affect your car’s battery, tires, and fluids, while icy conditions demand optimal performance from your brakes and safety features. By prioritizing Kia winter maintenance, you can prevent unexpected breakdowns and ensure a smooth driving experience throughout the season. Houston drivers might not face heavy snow, but fluctuating temperatures and occasional frost can still impact vehicle performance. Taking steps like checking your tires, battery, and fluids can make all the difference in keeping your Kia running efficiently. Inspect and Prepare Your Tires Your Kia’s tires are your first line of defense against slippery conditions, even in light frost or rain. Ensuring they’re in good condition is a critical part of Kia winter maintenance. Check the tread depth to confirm it meets safety standards, as worn tires can reduce traction. Additionally, monitor tire pressure regularly because cold air can cause it to drop, affecting handling and fuel efficiency. Consider switching to all-season tires if you frequently travel outside of Houston to colder regions. These tires offer better grip and control in lower temperatures, enhancing your Kia’s performance. Battery Health Is Key Cold weather can take a toll on your Kia’s battery, making it harder to start the engine. As part of your Kia winter maintenance routine, have your battery tested to ensure it’s holding a charge. If your battery is over three years old, it might be time to replace it to avoid issues during the colder months. Inspect the battery terminals for corrosion and clean them if necessary. A clean and fully charged battery ensures your Kia will start reliably, even on chilly mornings. Check Fluids and Top Them Off Fluids play a vital role in your Kia’s performance, especially during winter. Coolant, also known as antifreeze, is particularly important. It prevents your engine from freezing in low temperatures and keeps it running efficiently. Have your coolant levels checked and topped off as part of your Kia winter maintenance. Additionally, replace your windshield washer fluid with a winter-grade formula designed to resist freezing. This ensures clear visibility during frosty mornings or rainy days in Houston. Inspect Wipers and Lights Visibility is crucial during winter, so make sure your Kia’s wipers and lights are in top condition. Replace worn wiper blades to ensure they can clear frost and rain effectively. Check all lights, including headlights, brake lights, and turn signals, to ensure they’re functioning properly. These steps enhance safety and visibility, especially during early sunsets in the winter months. Stay Safe this Winter with DeMontrond Kia Taking the time for Kia winter maintenance ensures your vehicle is ready to handle the colder months ahead, even in Houston, TX’s mild climate. From inspecting your tires and battery to topping off fluids and checking wipers, these steps will keep your Kia running smoothly and safely. Don’t wait—prepare your car today and enjoy worry-free driving all winter long.
